Ruth Logan

In Remembrance: Ruth Alexander Logan

Ruth Alexander Logan passed away on January 16th. In Ruth’s 30 years at Roberts Wesleyan College (1990-2020), she served in the Office of Development, Director of Human Resources, Vice President for Administration, Vice President for Student and Organizational Development and a member of the President’s Cabinet (2004-2020). Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Rodmon Cedric King’98 Named Dean of Institutional Equity and Inclusion at Connecticut College

Dr. Rodmon Cedric King’98 (Religion-Philosophy) has been named the next dean of institutional equity and inclusion at Connecticut College. He will begin his new role Jan. 31. Read more.

Judah Sealy

Alumni Spotlight: Judah Sealy’07 on the Billboard Charts

Judah Sealy ‘07 (Music) and his song “Stylish” hit #14 on the Billboard Charts. Sealy is a Rochester-based jazz saxophonist known for his blend of R&B, gospel, neo-soul and funk. Read more.

Alumni Spotlight: Bob ’07 and Meg Hartman ’07, ’15

Bob’07 (Religion & Philosophy) and Meg Hartman’07,’15 (Communication, Strategic Marketing M.S.) recently launched AltBar, a venture that brings non-alcoholic craft cocktails to people who’d like an alcohol-free alternative to the social experience of Rochester’s bar scene. Read more.

Faculty Spotlight: Christa Marshall, Psy.D., Assistant Professor of Psychology

My favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with students and watching them grow over time. I remember fondly how my high school, college, and graduate school mentors took the time to invest in me; now I relish in building those same relationships with my students. Read more.

 

Roberts Appoints Vice President for Student and Organizational Development

Dr. Kristen Brown has been appointed to vice president for student and organizational development, a role Brown began serving on an interim basis for the college and Northeastern Seminary in February 2021. She assumes her role effective immediately and will continue to directly oversee the areas of student life, human resources, spiritual formation, campus safety, diversity and equity, and Title IX, while continuing to lead the institution’s COVID-19 response efforts. Amy Kovach and Jason Taylor Appointed as New Dean

Roberts recently appointed two new deans to its leadership team: In July 2021, Amy Kovach was named dean of the School of Education and Social Work, and Jason Taylor assumed his role as dean of the School of Natural and Social Sciences on January 1, 2022. Read more.

 

Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Nicholas DiFonzo, Associate Professor of Psychology

Coming to Roberts at this stage of my career has been an experience of dependence upon God, and of delighting in Christ. Dependence in that it is a shift in teaching and thinking. Delighting in that I see that every conceivable dimension here is infused with an awareness of God’s glory. Read more.

Roberts Hosted Reentry Association of Western New York Stakeholders Symposium

On December 2, the Roberts Wesleyan College Department of Criminal Justice hosted the Reentry Association of Western New York (RAWNY) Stakeholders Symposium. The Criminal Justice department’s Center for Restorative Justice and Academic Research partnered with RAWNY to conduct academic research relating to reentry services for persons completing parole. I would say that the staff members here on campus stand out to me the most. Because I come from a small town, I grew up with teachers who were super involved in their students’ lives.
